The TCMax Attendance Mode uses the simple "Software that Talks" tm engine to easily take attendance. A setup screen allows you to define classes, the rooms that they are in, and the class names based upon 'periods' and the days of the week for this class. You also define the number of minutes that a student can be late before they are tardy or marked absent. Periods are defined by start time and class duration. Schedules of periods can be created for things like a two hour delay, or early dismissal for teacher meetings. These schedules allow you to quickly switch schedules at a moments notice. To check into a class the student simply scans their student ID, TCMax says "Student". Optionally you can check back out of the class by scanning the student ID again. Hall passes can be printed on a receipt printer, including a special hall pass that allows a student to be late to their next class when you are keeping them late in your class. Reports include
