7.5.335 5/8/2008 TCMax, for the USAF and WRM equipment, you store the WRM calibration date in an inspection titled WRM.  If you issue the item then the WRM inspection is deleted and the Calibration Due Date is automatically set to the new real due date based upon the interval that was in the inspection.  To everyone else, WRM is equipment that is in storage and is calibrated every 520 days as long as it is not used.  Once it is used the calibration date changes to a much shorter interval.  We now automate this process.

7.5.334 5/6/2008 TCMax fixed bug in import/export merge function when the source database log had an entry for a deleted inspection.

7.5.330 4/23/2008 TCMax added deployable database for USAF TAS users.

7.5.327 4/12/2008 TCMax ... if you have ever accidentally scanned a tool rather than a work location when starting your issue process and have to enter the employee number/work location again now a new option for you (it has happened to about everyone).  With the new option turned on if you scan an employee number and skip the work location by scanning a tool, TCMax will warn you saying Attention, enter a work location, keeping the cursor in the work location box ... again saving you time.

7.5.326 4/8/2008 TCMax improved employee and tool logic when you have employee numbers and tool numbers that must have the same number of characters.  From Tools that are Out screen, when you click the broken tool button now TCMax asks you if you want to append information to the Notes field.  Wave files are selected by each local computer independently.  Pictures and attachments can now be shared on the network rather then limiting them to a local drive.  For USAF TAS migration tool, now you can export Kits back into TAS.  For US Army we added a new DA 2062 with pictures.  Plus we have implemented multiple minor bug fixes.  And we have made a major improvement in the DatabaseUpdate program making it much easier to setup a Sql Server database.  Managing non NATEF training requirements a minor bug fix when assigning a group of training requirements.  And we have added a feature where you can bulk issue expendable items in any quantity with an unlimited number of item types.

7.5.320 3/12/2008 TCMax added to Transfer Tools to Different Shop screen, TCMax now transfers children too so when you transfer a tool box all of the tools in the box also get transferred.  Moved the extra fields added in version 7.4  to a separate CHANGED_DATE table to prevent possibility of requesting too much data.

7.4.318 2/26/2008 TCMax added option for US Air National Guard that will automatically print an AF 1297 at the end of any issue process.

7.4.316 2/22/2008 TCMax added two new .wav files for Inspection Imminent and Calibration Imminent.  When you have calibration or inspection warnings setup in Preferences to warn you ahead of the normal due date TCMax, and you scan a tool that is within the warning period but not actually overdue you get the new wave file played and the normal red overdue banner turns yellow.  NATEF schools now can create a student group for an entire class and scan the group barcode to complete a task for the entire group ... TCMax allows you to change grades individually and de-select individuals that were absent for that class.  Attachments (Ctrl-A) are stored by Part Number but newly added is (Ctrl-B) for attachments stored by barcode number, use this for easy access to historical data for individual items.  We also added separate change date fields for every field in the database.  Now when you merge databases together we also synchronize the data.  Merge also now includes the employee certification information.

7.3.309 1/11/2008 TCMax added an additional field to the issued tools table and the LOG table.  Optionally you can have TCMax ask for (as before) Employee number, Work Location, Return Date, then the new Control Number.  U.S. Marines are required to track tools to a maintenance control number, now TCMax can too.  Also modified the TCMax Label Maker to remember the last label definition at startup.

7.2.308 1/3/2008 Fixed a bug when calibration due dates were set to a null.  Also improved the Attachments feature, allowing special characters in the part number field.

7.2.297 12/13/2007 TCMax, for US Navy or others that still require tool chits (tool tags), we now support a tool tag for something that is issued in multiple.  Snap-on Catalog lookup now does a "fuzzy" lookup when you enter a part number to try to match something like whatever you type.  Re-titled the lost and broken tool reports.  Original MIL now sorted by kit when no kit number is entered.  HAZMAT items that require weight upon issue and turn in, as the prompt comes up on the screen to ask you the weight TCMax now says "Attention".  And, we have added a new Kit building tool that helps you build tool kits easily by selecting tools from the Snap-on catalog, or from stock, dragging them to a tool kit.

1.2.84 12/11/2007 TAS Import tool, moved inspection date for everything except T.O.'s (technical orders) into the CAL Due Date field where it really belongs.

7.2.293 12/6/2007 TCMax, Option added to receipts with barcodes, a new barcode that when scanned turns in all tools that this employee has, in a single scan.  Speed up log on main screen under certain conditions.  Added features to both USAF MIL reports.  Option added to NOT issue a parent (tool kit) that has children overdue or missing.  Option that will update all LOG and Issued Tools records when you edit the barcode number in the main screen, the tool search screen, or the database maintenance screen.

5.8.117 7/28/2006, TCMax added Employee Favorites.  Perfect for issuing weapons or cameras when the person taking the asset prefers to take the one that they like.  When an employee ID is entered the favorites appear on an additional table.  Added NATEF course requirements tracking and reporting and a new Student Requirements Mode for the automotive school industry.  Moved Inspection table to the main screen, first tab.  Added the ability to track inspections by odometer & hour meter reading.  Added odometer/hour meter update mode to easily capture odometer readings.  Improved synchronization process with a Pocket PC.

5.7.1 6/9/2006, TCMax added a Maintenance Procedures feature.  You can now create maintenance procedures (or whatever you want to call them) and assign tools and equipment to that procedure by PART NUMBER.  Then from the regular TCMax screen if you scan or enter the maintenance procedure barcode number TCMax will print on your receipt printer the availability of each of those tools, where it is in your company, and if it is already issued, who has it and where they have it.  It even makes recommendations on getting it from a different tool room (shop code) if necessary.

5.6.103 4/17/2006, TCMax and Label Maker, added millimeter support.  Enter all measurements for labels in either inches or millimeters and the label prints correctly.  Corrected bug in Label Maker search screen that caused labels to be added from search screen even when you cancel.  Added ability to add single label from search screen selection.  Numerous Merge bugs fixed within TCMax.  Fixed bug with serial port code which would error if there was no serial port.  Added "Lean" report that helps you to know what tools you are using regularly, and what tools are never used.

5.5.76 12/23/2005 TCMax, broken tools color in Issued Tools report changes.  Issued Tools printed report, add option to display those tools issued during a certain timeframe.  All reports now are saved in Excel.  Added barcode capability to receipt printer.  These barcodes REALLY speeds up turning in items.  Receipt contains the employee number barcode and all tool barcodes.  Those items that multiple will be turned in have a second barcode that includes the quantity to be turned in preceded by a minus.  This works with receipt printers that can print barcodes, and has been tested with the Samsung Bixolon SRP-372U.  Spanish keyboard layouts change a scanned minus to other characters, this is fixed.  Label Maker program, added an Employee combo box so you can add individual employees to the label table, rather than having to get them all and delete.

5.5.74  TCMax, separate the advanced warning for calibrations and inspections so they can have a different number of days.  New expiration report based upon items with the Precious Metals box checked.  Change this title to Drugs.  The report is used to better manage drugs within first aid kits, first responder vehicles, etc.  Print Employee Label button was not enabled immediately after adding a new employee, fixed.  When in the Tool Edit mode, clicking on menu items sometimes caused edits to not be saved properly, fixed.  New Show Issued Tools printed report, includes barcodes both for the barcode number and the quantity to turn back in.  Makes turning things back in far simpler.  Added US Army DA FORM 2062 for inventory purposes, a mandatory report for them.  In the Pocket PC, when the Enter Quantity prompt is displayed we now also display the description of the item that you are making the entry for, just to make it easier to remember what you just scanned.

5.5.23 TCMax when you display a report and check the Save in .PDF check box, the first time TCMax will ask where you want the .pdf to be saved.  This can be any valid drive/folder combination.  TCMax will save the .pdf reports there from then on.  Also tidied up a few of the reports.

5.5.18 TCMax Sql Server version now available.  Added cost to two Issued Tools reports.  Changed functionality when trying to issue a Calibrated item, and it is overdue calibration, TCMax will no longer allow you to issue the item, unless you are issuing it to someone that has permission to change the calibration due date (like your calibration lab).  Added individual functionality for barcode descriptions to every specific PC.

1.1.44 Pocket PC version, when filtered by shop code, and when you scan a tool that belongs to another shop, TCMax tells you what shop it belongs to, and the Parent Barcode number and the Storage Location.  It continues to NOT allow you to issue or turn things in that belong to a different shop.  Also added two Inventory screens.  These display the list of things that have been inventoried within the last 30 days (number of days is adjustable) plus the things that have not been inventoried.  Both displays are based upon the current parent barcode number on the screen.  Please note that this change requires you to install a new TCMAXMobile.mdb database on your PC and your Pocket PC.  Instructions can be found on the download page of our web site.

5.3.35 TCMax, added a drop down control to the SHOP CODE box so it is easier to remember what shop codes you use.  Also, now the LOG SEARCH and TOOL SEARCH screens are filtered by shop code (when enabled).

5.3.3  TCMax, added U.S. Army form DA 5519-R to report daily activity.  Added interval to the Inspections table.  This is used in a significant change to the operation of our Inspection Update mode of operation.  The inspections are now updated based upon the interval.  If there are multiple inspections then TCMax will ask which ones to update.  Previously we simply updated them all. 9/10/2004

1.0.33 Pocket PC and 5.3.0 for PC, added to Inspections table the INTERVAL for the inspection.  In the Pocket PC Inspection Update mode, the new inspection date is based on the interval.  And, when there are multiple inspections you are presented with a table and you can select the inspection that you want to update, or update all of then with one click.

5.2.11 TCMax, certain video cards cause Windows to report to our software an incorrect screen resolution.  TCMax now has a screen resolution adjustment tool reached by pressing CTRL-Q from the main screen.  You change the multiplier, save, and re-start TCMax.  The label maker will use this same adjusted screen resolution.

5.2.10  TCMax, fixed bug in Tool Search and Log Search screens that caused them to interact.

5.2.9  TCMax, added Receive Inventory mode that will add to current inventory quantity in stock the quantity newly received.  Also added support for a third printer.  This third printer should be a thermal receipt printer, 3 inches wide like the Epson TM-T88III.  When you are finished issuing tools the receipt printer will automatically print a list of currently issued tools.  Use this receipt for on the spot tool inventories.  Also fixed bug when you tried to filter the log with the tools out filters.  7/30/2004

5.2.3  TCMax, added Cost of the tool to the Tools Issued report that you get by pressing CTRL-P from the main screen.  Also, restored the small blue print to the right of the main input box, saying ISSUE, TURN-IN, etc.

5.2.0  TCMax adds a number of fields that track the date/time that certain changes to data have been made.  This allows you to synchronize your data with remote sites and multiple separate TCMax databases.

5.1.21 TCMax, Changed the menu option "Issue Children of this Tool" to "Physical Inventory" with two sub options, "Issue Children of this Item", and "Issue Children and Grandchildren of this Item".  These functions issue all children to perform an inventory.  Then you turn them back in one at a time to actually do the inventory.  Items that are missing will remain on the Issued Tools list.  The second option will issue the children of children.  For example, a trailer is the Parent.  Kits and equipment in the trailer are children.  Items in the kits are grandchildren.  If you want to do an inventory but don't want to inventory what is inside of the kits then you use the first menu option.  If you want to inventory everything including the stuff inside of the kits then you use the second option.  Both are the MOST EFFICIENT way to perform any full inventory of your tools and other assets! 6/22/2004

5.1.7 Label Maker added select tools by storage location.

5.1.2  TCMax and broken tools.  To manage broken tools, issue the tool to any employee but with the location Broken.  TCMax will automatically check the broken tool check box in the lower right part of the screen.  The list of currently broken tools appears in the Show Tools that are Out screen plus they show in the Broken Report on the Other Reports screen.  When your receive a repaired or replacement tool you turn the tool back in and  the Broken check box is automatically un-checked.  A permanent history of broken tools is always available by running the History of Issue/Turn-in by Location report and entering the word "Broken" as the location.

5.1.0 TCMax added Serial Number of the tool to main screen and database.  Also added the ability to set a Default Location for each employee.  When the Default Location is set for a particular employee you no longer have to enter a location for that employee.  Scanning or entering the employee number automatically loads that employee's default location in the location box.

Also added 'special characters in barcode' support.  The purpose is so that you can tell if your employees scanned the barcode on the tool, the barcode in the drawer next to the tool, or just typed the barcode in manually.  You can now place a dash and a character (i.e. -T) in front of the characters in your barcodes.  TCMax automatically strips the first two characters when it sees a dash as the first character.  In the LOG table, TCMax adds the dash & character in front of the employee's name, telling you which barcode they scanned or if they typed it.  In version 5.1.x of the Label Maker program you can automatically add these special characters.

5.0.90 TCMax Tool Search screen now shows location of use and current user for those tools currently issued. 3/4/2004

5.0.0  Added the ability to print new 2-D barcodes like the PDF417, AZTEC, Data Matrix, and MaxiCode.  These new barcodes can take a tremendous amount of damage and the scanner has no problem reading them.  To read these barcodes you must have a barcode reader that is 2-D capable.  You can contact us for additional information on the hardware required.  This change requires you to perform a setup.exe with our latest CD.

4.2.28  Quick Turn @ Shift Change didn't update the tool locations to the location stated with the employee on the screen, it left the original location.  That has been fixed

4.2.27  Permission is now required for any employee to switch modes of operation.

4.2.25  Changed Inventory and Special Inventory modes.  Now when you scan an expendable item TCMax asks you to "Enter Quantity".  It then updates the quantity in stock with that number.  When you inventory an item that is not expendable but more than one item is under the same barcode number then TCMax asks you to "Enter Quantity".  It then takes that value and adds it to any of this same item that is already issued to update the total in stock if all tools were turned in.  TCMaxMobile received the same updates.

4.2.23  Fixed Preferences/Label Setup, employee label width would not change from 1.5 inches.  Also fixed synchronization routine for pocket pc, would not synchronize with an empty database.

4.2.22  Added Parents & Children report that details what children are located in all parents, plus if any of those children are issued alone.

4.2.19  Added the ability to change the label in front of Employee Name and Work Location from within Preferences

4.2.16  Added additional modes of operation.  Issue / Turn In (default mode), Inventory mode, Special Inventory mode, Inspection Update mode.  Added support for synchronizing iPAQ Pocket PC version of TCMax (to be released).  Added Inventory and Special Inventory reports based that will tell you what has or has not been inventoried.  Two additional .wav files are required for this version if you plan to use the inventory or inspection modes.

4.2.13  Added a Tool Search menu option to Maintenance menu.  This new screen allows you to search for a tool based upon its Parent Barcode, Description, Storage Location, NSN (or what ever you call this field), and Part Number.  Find your tool?  Click in its row then click a button on the screen and that tool appears automatically on the main screen.  Additional minor report updates.

4.2.10  Automatically turn in the Parent when issuing all Children of a Parent.  This feature is only used by organizations that are using TCMax to document inspections such as fire departments and rescue units.

4.2.08  Error that allowed tools to be turned in when you had the Requires Second Person box checked but the Must be Logged In to check in tools box was not checked, and you were trying to turn in your own tools.  Thanks to the 150th FW for the bug report!

4.2.07  Repaired flaw in the Quick Turn @ Shift Change screen and the TMDE report.

4.2.05  Repaired a problem with the CACRL report along with a few minor other fixes.

4.0.15  Added filter by date to the three reports that look a records in the LOG.  Added new tool menu option that adds the next available tool barcode number.

4.0.12  Fixed issuing all children of this tool which retained earlier version code.  This only affects fire department use of TCMax.  Changed barcode generator barcode type from 128A to 128B to allow upper and lower case barcodes.

4.0.11  Minor bug fix, under certain circumstances the text input box would be in yellow when it should be green.  This does not affect the actual operation of TCMax, just the prompt.

4.0.10  A number of minor bug fixes plus we gave the barcode input box a number of color codes that tells you whether you can issue to turn in tools.  Beginning with this version all blank databases have been password protected.  Contact us if you have an older version and wish to assign a password to the database.

4.0  This change has been a long time coming.  We finally figured out how to elegantly but simply allow you to issue multiple tools with the same barcode number to different employees.  We also added the ability to issue multiple of the same tool to a single employee.  All of this has been done without impeding the fast, easy operation of TCMax!  Also added new controls to brighten up the main screen.

3.2.7  Changes that keep the "edit" button on the tool side enabled.  Before you had to scan to tool barcode to enable it.  Also, certain conditions caused an error when bringing up Reports, this was fixed.

3.2.0  Option to require someone to log in before any tool can be issued or turned in.  Print labels right from the TCMax screen without having to start the label maker.  Print labels in landscape mode, required for some printers.  Customize all captions to fit your needs, i.e. don't need "NSN", change it to "Box Number" if you like.  Reports captions all change as well.  Added fields & reports for Shop Stock, Work Order Residue, Precious Metals, Shelf Life Item.  Added purchasing table that helps you decide what to order and when.  Tracks orders.  Employees may have to be certified before using certain  tools.  Multiple shops can share the same database.  Tools and log entries are all separated by shop code.  Management can view a single shop or all shops activities via reports and other screens.

3.1.30 Multiple minor bug fixes, a fatal error occurred when an employee with no name or employee number was in the MY_EMPLOYEES table.  Fatal error with a tool that had a null in the name box entered manually from within Access.

3.1.25 Minor bug limited Locations to ten characters.  Now the limit is 50

3.1.22 Minor bug Max Tools In Stock was not set to "0" when program was started

3.1.21  Minor bug fixes and enhanced the Backup Database routine

3.1.18  Added capability to hide employee numbers.  Also added new Tools Issued to a Particular Location report.

3.1.15  Added capability to merge databases via Import/Export screen.  This will create a copy of your existing database in a TDY directory, purge it, copy employees, and copy SELECTED tools issued to a specific employee or to a specific location ... Great for mobility & deployments

3.1.8  Changed text on Log In form from "User Name" to "Employee Number".  User Name was confusing ... it really needs the employee number and their password.

3.1.5 - 3.1.7  Bug fix, Tool Inventory report did not show part numbers, now it does.

Added, backup capability from Maintenance Menu.  The backup remembers where you last backed up. January 11, 2002

3.1.4 Fixed bug where you could not set No Turn In/ Cacrl / TMDE / Broken etc. with a new tool and in the mode where you use FOD as a password.  Added, when logged in using FOD password, TCMax tells you that an Unknown user is logged in.  Added, when you turn someone else's tools in, the person that previously issued the tools name now appears at the top of the log table.  Also added to Label Maker the ability to select a series of barcode numbers from your existing inventory table and add them to the grid for printing.  We did this to make it easier to print replacement barcodes.  December 5, 2001

3.1.3 Added CTRL-P printing capability from the main screen.  Press control + P any time that you have an employee listed on the screen, and the tools issued to that employee print for his or her signature.  November 29, 2001

3.1.2 Database maintenance column widths are now memorized.  Sort by clicking in column header in database maintenance tables.  Checking for duplicate employee names when new employee is added.  Tool history report fixed for tools with alpha first character.  Other cosmetic fixes. November 24, 2001

3.1.0  Added security features.  Now you can control by employee, what each employee is allowed to do.  All employees are allowed to issue or turn in tools.  But, all other features are turned on only if that employee is given permission.  To enable features (such as new employees, new tools, etc.) you first must log in.  Each employee can have their own password.  Hit F12 key to bring up log in screen.

3.0.3  Now you must be Logged In before you can add new employees or tools.  A number of users had people typing incorrect employee or tool numbers, the new employee or tool boxes open, then they enter junk adding unnecessary records.  Now, if you are not logged in and enter a "new" employee number or tool number, the appropriate audio fires but nothing else happens.

3.0.2  Fixes bug with barcode numbers.  Version 3.0 allows barcodes with up to 50 characters, alpha numeric.  Under certain conditions, TCMax would not allow you to enter a long barcode, or one with alpha characters.   This happened most often within the Parent Barcode number.  This is now fixed.  Also, latest setup.exe is now Windows XP compatible.

3.0.1  Fixes a bug in the PRINTED tool's issued report.  The bug caused tools that have never been issued to print as if they were out.  The displayed tools out report worked correctly.

3.0   If your employee numbers are located in a table Not titled "MY_EMPLOYEES" then you must contact us before attempting an installation.  The TCMaxDatabaseUpdate program will not work properly until we help you make a change to your database.  This version makes employee number field 50 characters.  It adds the ability to directly scan ID cards of any number of alpha numeric character length, and any length of tool barcode alpha numeric characters as long as the ID card and tool barcodes have a different number of characters.  Optionally allows you to NOT have to use the original design of 'special character & 5 digit employee numbers' which was intended for Air Force use.  The new method of identifying employees will fit the needs of any civilian or military organization.  An additional option allows tool barcodes and employee numbers to be the same length, however, if this option is selected, you will be required to enter an employee number BEFORE you are allowed to turn in any tools.  Previous TCMax users (before May 2001) must move their employee numbers into a new employee table titled MY_EMPLOYEES.  Soaring Software Solutions will provide this service for any license holder that has a current annual maintenance agreement.

3.0  Added ability to issue all children of a tool.  This menu option is used by fire fighters at shift change to check all items on a piece of apparatus.  They scan the fire truck barcode, click the menu option to issue all children.  Then they walk around the fire truck, scanning all safety items, turning them in.  Those that are not turned in must be broken or missing.

3.0  Added ability to issue expendable items.  TCMax tracks how many expendable tools you have left in stock and reports when you are below lower limits.

3.0  All scanners now must be programmed to send the carriage return after scanning.  This has been the default for all software delivered after May 2001.

2.8 & 2.9 add wider fields for various database tables.  2.8 also fixed a problem with the installer that caused the program to not run unless Microsoft Office 2000 was installed first.

After July 1, 2001 CDs will include Microsoft Internet Explorer in it's latest version as 4.1 or later is required for installation.

2.7.4  Because many users require a different person to check in tools than the one that checked them out, the log table now displays a list of tools still issued to the person that issued the last turned in tool.

2.7.3 Optionally you can require that the person checking in tools must be a different person than the one issuing the tools.

2.7.0  This version requires a full installation.  It incorporates the latest support pack from Microsoft Visual Studio, SP5.  It also prepares the database to allow "filtering" of the tools out report.  New, the tools out report to be filtered by key words in the employee field.  You can issue tools to the PME lab and have them not show up in the tools issued report.

2.6.x  This version removes employee numbers from the log replacing them with employee names.  The "last used by" column is also removed from the log.  The TCMaxDatabaseUpdate.exe program must be run before using TCMax to properly update the database.  It also fixes problems with the tool history report.

2.5.x  This version adds the capability to scan employee id cards, namely the military ID card.
