Up Summary Report Detailed Report

Track NATEF tasks with a few simple barcode scans and two reports!  We've made the tedious process of tracking NATEF tasks extremely simple.

A brief explanation of what NATEF is: NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) provides certification standards for high school and post secondary school automotive students.  Their tasks are divided into three groups, automotive, collision, and diesel truck.  The automotive group has eight major areas such as engine repair, brakes, automatic transmission, etc.  Each of these areas has approximately 16 to 64 individual tasks all with a priority of 1, 2, or 3.  Currently a student must complete 95% of the P-1's, 90% of the P-2's, and 50% of the P-3's.  Tracking the status of a bunch of students becomes a complex problem ... until now.

To complete a NATEF task with TCMax:

  1. Scan the student's ID barcode (TCMax says "Student")
  2. Scan the NATEF task from our task book or on the individual student task sheet (TCMax says either "Completed" or "Enter Grade")
  3. Optionally scan or enter a 0 - 4 proficiency level (enter their grade) (TCMax says "Completed")
  4. Scan additional completed tasks for this student as well

Getting the data out of TCMax, from the Course Requirements mode you select Other Reports and the NATEF report is automatically selected.  Select the students and or date range and run the report.  TCMax will ask you if you want a detailed or summary report.

The summary report gives you the list of task areas (i.e. engine repair, automatic transmission, etc.) and the percentage of P-1, P-2, and P-3 completions, with a bold "Completed" when they are complete.  It also gives a total completion rates and average grades for the entire school.

The detailed report gives the same information as above but lists all individual tasks, whether completed or not, the completion date, and the proficiency level (grade).

By the way, TCMax also has Attendance taking modes of operation!
